Weltkino 20.9.2007: Call for movies

Birgit Baustädter informed us that the Welthaus film nights (called "Weltkino") continue this year. Read here message below. If you want to answer her (like movie suggestions) or have questions write to birgit.baustaedter@welthaus.at

----------------------------------------------

Aloha,

my name is Birgit Baustädter, student on FH Joanneum and also working at Welthaus, where I am organizing the international movie-night "Weltkino" (held every third Thursday in the month). The next one is going to be at the 20th of September at 7 pm at Welthaus Graz.

Weltkino is a movie-night organized for international and Austrian students. The main goal of the night is, to have fun, get to know each other and discuss. We watch the movies in a multimedia library, surrounded by 5000 media on development work, development countries and living conditions worldwide. The films are shown in original language with English subtitles. Entrance is for free, but you have to sign in for the free Weltkino-movie-Club right on the movie-night.

The films are normally chosen by international students and I would like to ask, if you have any suggestions. The films should be on the topic: "living conditions worldwide - poverty/wealth, minorities, life, food, conditions of work, everyday life, religion, alternatives for a different world, social criticism".

To give you some examples: During the last year, we watched films like "Cidade de deus" ("City of God"), "Tsotsi" or "Turtles can fly".

Please send me the title of the film you would like to watch until the 13th of September.

So, have a great time in Graz and I hope to get some mails.

Best regards,

Birgit Baustädter
