Bärenschützklamm Hiking (now cheaper!)
Hiking trip to Bärenschützklamm (25.10.2006)
This trip will lead us through a spectacular canyon, where the creek Mixnitzbach shaped up to 300m high walls. The path through the canyon will lead us over 164 bridges and 2500 wooden steps. The difference from the bottom to the top is approximately 700m. It's one of the most famous destinations in the surroundings of Graz and suitable for a family trip. So if you consider yourself a bit sportive it shouldn't be much of a problem to do the approximately 4 hour hike (up and down). Good shoes (hiking boots preferably) are recommended though because the path might be slippery.
From the parking we will start hiking for one hour through the woods to the entrance of the canyon. Then it's another hour of hiking through the canyon and from there a bit more to a Cabin (some sort of restaurant) where we can have something to eat or drink. The descend will lead us down a steep path (Prügelweg) where Flip Flops are strictly not recommended! ;-)
I hope many of you will join to experience this nice part of Styria!
