Dearest "Skihaserl" (skiing bunnies) and friends of Austria´s fantastic snowy mountains - we love to present a day full of skiing and apres ski fun! 

Sounds good? Then you shoud definitely be a part of our ESN Graz Ski Trip for an amazing at the Ski Resort Kreischberg, located not far away from Graz. The slopes at Kreischberg, a total of 42 km for all levels of difficulty, are a perfect chance to spend time in Austria´s beautiful mountains! 

 

HARD FACTS: 

 

WHEN: Sunday, 3rd of March 2024 

MEETING POINT: 05:45 (5.45 a.m.) at Franz-Graf-Allee (next to the Opera Graz)

ARRIVAL: approx. 19:00 (7.00 p.m.) in Graz 

COSTS: 

  • 50 Euros with ESNcard 
  • 60 Euros without ESNcard

+ 15 Euros ski/snowboard + helmet rental (optional) 

+ 22 Euros ski/snowboard lessons, 4h (optional) ) 

ATTENTION: NOT included are goggles, gloves and warm clothes (maybe you can ask your Austrian friends to borrow something or buy new ones! For good deals we recommend checking different thrift stores (Carla, Humana) and Willhaben. 

 

TIME TABLE: 

  • Meeting point: 5.45 a.m. 
  • Arrival at ski resort: around 8.00 a.m. 
  • Ski/snowboard lessons: 10.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m. and 1.00 p.m. - 3 p.m. 
  • Ski slope closing: 4.00 p.m. 
  • Meeting point for departure: 4.45 p.m. 
  • Arrival back in Graz: approx. 7.00 p.m. 

 

WHAT to bring with you: 

  • Appropriate warm skiing clothes (jeans, chinos and so on are not appropriate as they will get wet and you´ll freeze) 
  • Gloves and sunglasses (perhaps also sunscreen) 
  • food/snacks and water 
  • Cash for drinks and warm food in the mountain huts 
  • Your ID card 

 

As the slopes can be very different from the slopes you may know, we highly recommend getting an instructor. We at the ESN pay a lot extra for this service for you and the cost of a private instructor would be many times higher. So, if you are not that experienced, please consider this special offer for you. We also take care to have English speaking instructors. 

 

SIGN-UP:

You are only asked to put your Last Name, First Name and E-mail address. Please make sure that you put the correct E-mail so we can contact you. This will take us a few minutes. Thank you for your understanding. 

      2. We want to know you! 

After the Pre-Sign-Up, you will get an E-mail that asks for additional information. To secure your spot, we will ask for additional information through the link provided in that E-mail. 

We will ask you if you have an ESNcard, if you have a mountain insurance, emergency contact, whether you ski OR snowboard, your experience level and which additonal packages you want to add. 

If you choose to rent equipment, you will be asked to share your European shoe size, your height in cm and your weight in kg, as it is needed to provide you with the right eqipment. 

     3. Confirmation

After putting all your information in the system, you will get an E-mail telling you if you´ve got the spot. 

    4. Office hour

Once you get a spot and complete the additional information form, we will see you during our special office hour on the 20th of February at 7.00 p.m. at the KFU ESN office (Schubertstraße 6). 

Depending on your optional choices, you will have to sign our Condition Sheet personally and pay the full amount in cash! Please understand, that due the high demand and nature of this event, you can not sell your seat to another person. If you can´t participate, please let us know, even after the official cancellation date. We will try to find a person from the waiting list that will take your place, so we can potentially give you a refund. If you are on the waiting list and a spot clears, you will be notified via E-mail.

Please note: If you take part in one of our events, you do so at your own risk and your own responsibility! Make sure that you have appropriate mountain insurance! In Austria, skiing accidents and mountain rescue are not covered by public health insurance! 

 

If the snow forecast is bad (not enough snow) or there are no appropriate skiing conditions, the event will be cancelled or postponed!
