The ESNcards module offers the following mangament functions:

• Issue new ESNcards
  Only possible during office hours
  - issue a new card for the same person after the old card got invalid
  - integrated with incomings module to save typing when handing out a card the first time
   
• Edit ESNcards
  mainly to correct the personal information
   
• Hand out new ESNcard for person which had a card previously
  Only possible during office hours
  - without re-typing everything
   
• List cards
   
• Search for a card
   
• Invalidate ESNcards
  If card got stolen or some other reason exists to invalidate the card before the original expiry date. Card is only marked in our system as invalid.
   
• Issue phone cards (SIM cards)
  Only possible during office hours
  - Either when handing out the ESNcard in one operation
  - Or later by searching the card and then issuing a phone card as well
   
• Integration with events
  Only possible during office hours
  - use ESNcard number to sign-up student to an event (without typing all person data)
  - or if student forgot the card, you can signup a specific person out of the ESNcard list to an event (search for the student by name, then just select it - no need to copy or remember the ESN card number)

   

List ESNcards view:

• Indicates if person has at least one phone card
• Show status of ESN card
• Shortcut to invalidate card
• Shortcut to signup this person for an event
• Link to show all ESN card details and phone card details

Use the list cards view including invalid cards to renew an ESNcard:

Then show the card details - there you can issue a new ESNcard

Options for searching a card:

• search by ESNcard number
• search by full name "Mustermann" or partial name "Muste"
• if student cannot be found - try using the fuzzy search with a partial name
